Text of Rocklin Police Department Press Release: Arrest Of High School Teacher

The following is the text of the press release issued this week by the Rocklin Police Department on the arrest of a Whitney High School teacher.

City of Rocklin LogoROCKLIN — Rocklin Police arrested a Whitney High School teacher today for  “sexting” a female juvenile for unlawful purposes.  Richard Eldredge, who was placed on administrative leave by the Rocklin Unified School District, is a theatre arts teacher.

The 17-year-old victim reported to police that Eldredge on more than one occasion texted her asking for either sex or naked photos over a period of at least a month.

The revelations first came to police from a mandated reporter not associated with Whitney High School.

Eldredge, 41 years, of Sacramento was booked into Placer County Jail on a Ramey Warrant for 288.3 PC – Unlawful contact with a minor for unlawful sexual purposes, a felony.
